CPL 2.0 Done....done....done like toast.

Well oh well, now that this training is done and someone else won the ipod.....what shall we do?!

CPL 2.0 Delicious: How comfortable are you using Best Websites, after this practice? Do you have any tips for using Best Websites on Delicious?

The Best Websites on Delicious was overwhelming with way to much to wade through and too difficult to find the things I was actually searching for. I do not think it was an improvement over the Best Websites on the old CPL website. My only tip or suggestion would be to 'google' any subject you are looking for....it would probably be quicker than searching through Delicious.

CPL 2.0 Twitter: share your thoughts on this fast growing online phenomenon.

I had a look around Twitter and tried to search a couple of subjects and found it to be more of the same type of social networking where people are filling cyber space with a whole bunch of stuff with very little of it of use. I would be unlikely to create a Twitter or even look at Twitters again without a specific reason to.

CPL2.0 How easy or difficult was it to find articles that needed editing? Were the errors you found factual or grammar / spelling?

I find Wikipedia very useful and am reluctant to ever change any of the listing. I wouldn't want to change something just to give someone else the opportunity to correct my spelling or grammar. I often refer to Wikipedia for a quick and dirty explanation.

CPL2.0 What do you like about the Google product? What do you dislike? Would you recommend the product to friends and colleagues?

I love google....I love google searches....I love google products....I love igoogle....I love gmail....I love Picasa....I love google earth and ....and....and....
And yes I do recommend google to others. I think it is great.
I really liked the photo editing in Picasa...simple to use, thorough, nice results.

CPL2.0 Were you able to successfully set up your RSS feed? If not, where did you run into problems? If you were successful, does this make ......

I was able to set up an account. OMG another login and password to remember. I will soon need an account to remember all my accounts and another one to recall all my passwords. I found it rather boggy....is that a word!? And I doubt I will ever use or look at it again. Again, igoogle with it's applications and personalizing of your own page is far preferable to me.

CPL 2.0 Comment on Flickr and YouTube. Were they user-friendly?

Youtube is great, sometimes. You can actually find some informative stuff on it but like so many things on the web....there is just too much. At least it is simple to search and switch on and off. Flickr was interesting but the photo editing was not as simple and reliable as the google product. Google rules....again.

What are you reading now?

Entertaining....way better than anything you find on TV. I am enjoying this. Sometimes a good romance is a delightful change of pace.

CPL 2.0 Do you see free online tools like these eventually replacing expensive software like MS Office?

I am a firm believer that these type of free online tools will be used more and more and people will opt out of buying software whenever possible. I think it is happening already.
